it is only when I am close to the sea that I feel truly at home. Which is why you will find me walking the dogs most mornings on a beach close to Edinburgh. It’s where I think, plan and find treasure.

In May 2023, I invited Lorna Sinclair to be an Artist in Residence. Her stay inspired The Glenburn Series and the paintings are glorious.

I’ll do almost anything to raise awareness of The Super Power Agency. So when the team at Frederic Magazine suggested they feature MHS Studio in their first edition of 2024, I realised it was an extraordinary opportunity.

It all began with a piece of pottery. I spotted the relatively small, stout jug and loved the way it shouted joy. But I didn’t realise it was special. There was just something about the bright colours and the way the flowers had been painted that made me instantly love it.
